Every Damy & Sush piece is hand-crafted with diamond-grade moissanite, premium CZs, or cultured pearls — set in 925 sterling silver or 18K gold-plated demi-fine bases, depending on the collection you bought your piece from. With a few simple habits, your jewellery will keep its sparkle for years. And if it ever needs a refresh, our Lifetime Shine Promise has you covered.
The 'Last On, First Off' Rule
The single most important habit. Put your jewellery on after makeup, perfume, lotion, and hairspray. Take it off before showers, workouts, or swimming. This one habit prevents the majority of wear-and-tear we see.
What to Avoid
Direct contact with:
• Water — chlorinated pools, sea water, hot showers, steam
• Perfumes, deodorants, hand sanitizers
• Lotions, sunscreen, hair sprays, oils
• Harsh chemicals and cleaning agents
• Saunas, steam rooms, and extreme heat
These shorten the life of the gold plating and can dull the stones' brilliance over time.
Also avoid hard contact — knocking your piece against surfaces, sleeping in it, or wearing it during heavy housework. Moissanite is very hard, but settings can loosen with impact.
How to Store
Store each piece separately in its original Damy & Sush pouch or box. This prevents pieces from scratching each other and protects the plating from atmospheric moisture.
Keep your jewellery in a cool, dry place — away from direct sunlight, radiators, or humid bathrooms. For long-term storage, an airtight pouch slows the natural oxidation of silver.
To Clean
Gently wipe each piece with the polishing cloth included in your packaging — or any soft, lint-free fabric. That's all it needs.
A Note on 925 Sterling Silver
Real silver is naturally prone to slight oxidation over time — especially in humid climates. This isn't a defect; it's actually how you know your silver is genuine. A gentle wipe with the polishing cloth brings the shine right back.
A Note on 18K Gold Plating
Our gold plating is hand-finished for richness, but like all gold-plated jewellery worldwide, it gradually fades with daily wear and exposure to chemicals. With proper care, expect 12–18 months of beautiful wear before any noticeable fade.
